In February 2026, three exceptional seizures at the port of Dunkirk totalled more than 13 tonnes of cocaine in under two weeks, with an estimated retail value of nearly €865 million — a national record.¹ And customs is adapting. The spectacular rise of drug trafficking in France and Europe, the growth of e-commerce, and the sophistication of criminal networks are forcing the institution to strengthen its targeting, intelligence, and risk anticipation capabilities through artificial intelligence, logistics data, and new technologies.
